Reducing the chances of Eyederma
Puffy Eyes can be the result of sleeping difficulties and that not only means difficulty in getting to sleep but also getting a good deep relaxing sleep.
With our busy lives many of us today reach bedtime with lots still playing on our mind and sleep does not come easily if your brain is still busy
working over the problems you have faced during your day.
If this is something that affects you try taking a warm drink just before bed and write down those things that are playing on your mind this does sometimes help.
In addition to lack of sleep there are other reasons for puffy eyes or bags under the eyes. Heredity traits, ageing, fatigue, allergies such as eczema and asthma, too much exposure to the sun and stress can all have an effect on the skin around the eyes. These factors can also be attributed to those darkened areas we sometimes call dark circles under the eyes.
It is also a well known fact that that smoking or drinking too much alcohol, and coffee, can also worsen the condition.
We all know the problems concerning health and smoking but if you do not want to give up for health reasons try thinking about the effects it can have on your skin over the years.
Bacteria can spread from any eye make-up, such as mascara or other eye products that may be some months old and perhaps getting near to being out of date. It might be sensible as well to avoid using other peoples eye make up.
Remove your eye make-up before sleeping to avoid the make-up entering your eyes and causing irritation. Cotton wool balls can be gentler on the eyes than tissues.
Try sleeping with your head slightly raised it may well allow better circulation and also help in preventing excess fluid from collecting around the eye areas.
Drink enough water to prevent dehydration, if you are often feeling a need to drink then although there are other reasons it may be that you are dehydrated.
Reduce your salt intake as salt will encourage fluid retention and that is not only detrimental to the skin under your eyes but can lead to high blood pressure.
Eye creams can help reduce the effect of puffiness under the eyes or eye bags.., when applying an eye cream, use only a very light touch using the ring finger and apply with light patting motion. Only a very small amount is necessary. Do not allow it to enter the eye and do not apply it to eyelids. One of the lesser known brands that is growing in popularity particularly in the US is Eyederma formulated to reduce both puffiness and those dark circles under the eyes.
