Stretch marks can be a very frustrating problem for those who have them and since the diet craze of the 80s and 90s started (and it’s still going strong) people seem to be obsessed about how to get rid of stretch marks. In fact stretch marks are caused when the collagen under the skin is damaged and also when the skin is stretched to a point where it’s elasticity cannot hold and protein binders are broken. Both men and women can easily have stretch marks and while they don’t pose any health risk, they are unaesthetic in cases of pregnancy stretch marks . Contrary to popular belief (and their deceiving name), they don’t have much to do with the stretching of the skin.
