Did you know that a main reason for stomach issues can be your lifestyle? It’s true; things like smoking, alcohol, overeating, fatty foods, citrus, tomatoes, stress and even prescription medicines can lead to stomach pains. If you suffer from stomach pains, take a look at your lifestyle, cut back on a few things and see how your stomach feels after that, you could have potentially just taken care of the problem.

Our stomachs are located between our esophagus and our small intestine and it has three simple tasks. Our stomachs store our food, and then it mixes our food with our stomach acids and then sends that mixture to our small intestines. Many people all over the world are plagued by stomach issues. People suffer from indigestion, heartburn, ulcers, whatever it may be, it’s happening all the time. There are many different types of things that can be done to help relieve the pain of stomach issues, and there are some simple life style changes that can be taken into consideration as well.

For many of us who suffer from heartburn have probably always been told that it’s not a big deal, drink a glass of milk, maybe take an antacid and it will go away. However in some cases with severe and frequent heartburn, it’s best to actually consult your doctor. If you suffer from heartburn several times a week, if your heartburn returns after your antacid wears off or your heartburn wakes you up at night, you may need to take prescription medicines to help stop heartburn. If you are taking prescriptions and you’re still having cases of heartburn, difficulty swallowing, regurgitating blood or black material, stool samples are black or you find that you’re using weight, you may need further medical care, and in some rare cases surgery.

Many lifestyle factors can lead to stomach issues. Things like smoking, alcohol, fatty foods, citrus, overeating, stress and even some medications can be linked to stomach issues. If you suffer from stomach problems, take a look at your lifestyle, the types of food you eat and try to cut back on certain things to see if that helps you out.
